How Long Do Natural Hair Extensions Last

Investing in natural hair extensions might seem like a great way to obtain a preferred look while the hair is still growing out. Though it can help the look, understanding the likely amount of time and the influences on the extensions will make it easier to determine if it is worth the expense. The type of hair extensions are a key factor in determining the amount of time before it needs replacement.

The longest lasting natural hair extensions are clip-in extensions. The clip in styles are removed each day and with proper maintenance can last for several years. Extensions that are put in professionally will require adjusting around four to six weeks after putting them in and usually need replacements after 12 to 16 weeks due to normal wear and tear. Though natural hair extensions can last for a few months with appropriate care, any extension that is part of a weave will not last as long as a clip-in alternative. Natural hair extensions look amazing, but they also require proper care and maintenance.

Depending on the type of extension, it can last from a few weeks to a few years. Visit us at Fabi’s Hair Studio for more details about extensions and the different types.
